The EL170 Manila blog has crashed big time–well, all of the MIDDblogs have crashed–this time for good, it seems–and the heartening news is that Charles and Henry discovered it almost as soon as I did. That means, of course, that this remarkable group of writers has truly taken over the blog and taken it on for themselves. Now the question is –how do we make the transition to Movable Type smooth for them? I’m thinking a la Hector about letting them set up their own blogs now and then backfilling the old blog as time permits. I do see the merits in this approach, that the students who really want to blog can do so, but it also privileges the individual over the collective body if we’re not all working off the same MOTHERBLOG.
