 Joan, thanks for the article--ah, if only higher ed would embrace arts-based learning.  I see it nowhere outside the performing and visual arts. Literature majors for the most part do not even require any creative writing. I tell all my students to take at least one, if not two or three or four, arts-intensive courses every semester.  They look at me as though I&#039;ve gone mad--&quot;It&#039;s not practical&quot;  they say,  or &quot;My parents would kill me,&quot; or &quot;I can&#039;t complete my major(s) if I do that.&quot;]]></description>
